Went out Saturday morning to try my luck at these tender morsels and the weather was by my standards awesome!! Cold, a little chop and a breeze. Started in Appletree and after a slow 30 minutes had a hookup but not to be. A bit later a different story…. Battaboom battabing a 26” hatchery bright and beautiful winter chinook in the box. A bit later a nice 23” hatchery we let go to keep fishing. Gave it a bit longer then moved to JH. Started south side and trolled across the flats. WDFW fish checker came along side and as it happened a great taste down. Short fight then ‘SNAP’!! Line broke well above flasher, with the full lumber yard out there not hard to figure out what happened there. About 10 minutes later BOOMSHAKALAKA!! Fish on!! This time BONK… in the box and done. Green hoochies were best producers on bottom. Nothin fancy just the normal stuff. Gonna give it hell this weekend so hopefully more reports to come
