The weather finally calmed down, but the participation was high for the 2nd weekend of the A10 BM fishery.
Lots of fishers out there, it was like playing dodge ball with the boats along with collison avoidance with the deadheads and debris field from the king tides and all the recent rains and snow. Be careful mariner friends!
Fishing has been consistent with larger cookies and cream spoons fished deep between 90-130' to avoid the shakers. Not much bait is showing but with all the debris around, the herring are just under hiding and feeding on invertebrates. A mooched herring or presented jig shouldn't be overlooked to include in your arsenal. Was nice to see a few other NKPSA members on the water this weekend.
If you missed last week's Fish Hunt NW, below is the link for the YouTube if you would like to know more about our Puget Sound Squid fishery.
