Dave Y. Seiku early September

Spent the first week of Sept. fishing out of Sekiu with friends and family. Picked up maybe a 30lb. halibut at 320 ft south of Pillar Point using double #10 J hooks on wire leader, topped with a glow rubber squid with fins, sweetened with a horse herring, bouncing a 24 oz. ball. They are open daily and many were being caught. We also picked up 1/2 dozen or so true cod in the same area using pipe jigs. Very tasty!Coho fishing was good though you have to work your way through the finned ones, and the many wild chinook. Using green and also white hoochies behind green / white dodgers most often down 50 ft., sometimes out to the shipping lanes.Tight lines!Dave

P.S. Beware of the low tides when mooring.
