Greg R. - Bush Point / Lagoon Point

Set out in the dark at 0630 on Sunday. Shook the dice and headed for Bush/Lagoon Point. After a couple crappy weather days, we couldn’t have asked for better conditions. With a big ebb tide we decided to drop just South of Bush and let mother nature take us North. Lines in the water eater at around 0650, zig-zag’ed between 300’-400’ by the time we passed Lagoon Point we had five fish at the boat. We let one wild go and boxed up the other four, 5- 11 pounds. Gear was at 47’ & 69’ on the wire, in order to achieve a decent line angle we were going 5-6 mph. Port side caught all the fish with a plain white hootchie. We shared the news with a few others and the question was quickly asked, “you bought a derby ticket right”? I replied, of course not, that’s why we got a good fish:-) Yes, I should have learned by others (Edmonds Derby) mistakes. Well four nice fish in the freezer and made it home for breakfast!

Tight Lines,

Greg (Shawna Rae)
