With an expected very few days left in Area 10 for Kings l decided to go there even though l have a bunch of work to do at home. After all there are higher priorities. Mike Duncan joined me to fish the outgoing tide, we hit the north end by the piling marker and in three passes l caught two Kings and a silver. One
King was 12#, both wilds. All hit a Gibbs Herring Aid at 64' down in 100' of water. After the bite dropped off we moved south to Jefferson Head. Mike promptly put on a green spackle back hoochie with a strip of herring, behind an all yellow flasher. Yep, that's right. Within 3 minutes he had a hit and put a 8.5# in the boat. We kept going out towards mid channel, then decided why not go back to where we caught the King. Yep, within 5 minutes Mike had a keeper silver. So after a few minutes, back we went to our starting point again, thanks to GPS tracking. Mike had another hit and he generously handed me his pole, it was a 12.5# keeper. All fish were around 65' down in 110' of water. We decided was time to head home as the bite ended. We figure we caught the three fish in a little over 30 minutes, the best 30 minutes of the year!!! Later today the game Dept. decided Saturday will be the last day for King fishing in Area 10. This report, l hope will be helpful, at least for one more day. Can't catch em unless you try.
